"unplayable" area should have some cool effect #104

Right now the area outside the current map is simply drawn as black.

There should be some cool effect to indicate that there really is some landscape outside our level, and that it simply cannot be displayed properly, due to interference.

The map could go on outside with water or a forest and fog which gets more dense towards the real border of the map.

Yes, that's the sort of thing I was thinking of. Perhaps we can change the current black to more of a dark grey; then the trick is to provide a smooth transition from border tiles to this unplayable area, perhaps with some kind of "smoke" effect (it's a mining colony after all).
