This is most likely an unofficial PS3 controller and can't currently be supported

This is most likely an unofficial PS3 controller and can't currently be supported oh, there's nothing that can be done to make it work?

There is, but it's incompatible with authentic controllers so I won't release it. Currently I have no reliable method to tell them apart.

If you're interested in building your own version, this branch contains fixes that will allow most non-working clone controllers to function, but will break support for anything that operates the Sony way https://github.com/ndeadly/MissionControl/tree/ds3-clone-fix

I have the same issue as well and knowing it won't get released soon but I actually have one official and most of them are clones. I found an easy way to detect them just with feel and on the original PS3 controllers, the buttons and dpad feels a bit mushy where as the clones have a much sharper feeling when you press on them and the x, o, triangle and square buttons will be louder than the original
