1 year ago The first thing to work out is whether Alexa is just mis-hearing you, or if something is going wrong in the skill. If you go to https://developer.amazon.com/alexa/console/ask, and click on your Sky box skill. Then click Test at the top, it should bring up the Alexa Simulator on the left. In the box type:
change channel to b. b. c. one on sky box
Hopefully you should see your TV change to BBC1. Let me know what it says if it doesn't.
You can also try channel numbers if you know them, eg
change channel to 102 on sky box
Have to say all is good using nearly all these commands
Power on/off: "Alexa, turn on Sky box" Change channel: "Alexa, change channel to BBC One (on Sky box)" Playback control: "Alexa, pause/play/rewind/fast forward (on Sky box)" TV Guide: "Alexa, turn on TV Guide" Subtitles / Audio description: "Alexa, turn on subtitles/audio description" Info: "Alexa, turn on info"
but have to ask what is the best voice command to use to change the channel, my poor Alexa doesn't seem to know how to change a channel, I have tried using the suggested sentence above but she ain't doing it lol
I have set my region to HTV Wales HD, could it be anything to do with that?
