Ndless installation on 4.5.1.12 #173

I have a TI-Nspire CX CAS running 4.5.1.12. Is there any way to currently get Ndless 4.5 installed on it? I saw in the README next to the 4.5.1.12 syscalls that 'other' installation was required.

Unless you have a third-party loader installed on your handheld, currently not.

This might be outside the scope of this thread, but do you know of any third party loaders that I could try?

I have the same issue. The documentation suggested to update the OS to 4.5. I had 4.4 so I did. There was no hint about not updating further than 4.5.0.xxxx. Now I am stuck. Is there a possibility to downgrade without ndless?

Will there be eventually an update to support 4.5.1?

Any help is appreciated!

Which documentation? The official readme here mentions 4.5.0 explicitly.

is there an eta as to when ndless will support 4.5.1? I need to transfer some files within the next two days and I was wondering if it would be updated by then

yeah I recently upgraded my Nspire cx cas to 4.5.1.12 and the latest ndless 4.50 has stopped working :( will 4.5.1 support be coming soon? and how soon? I have some C programs I have my class make every year for our programming/game design class and 4.5.1 support would be helpful. Thx

You all should rather complain to TI rather than here, after all they are the ones who choose to lock down the OS ^^' Then it may take a while for the Ndless developers to find a security flaw and exploit it to unlock the OS...

Is there a way to downgrade the system to 4.5.0 without ndless? Since I need to delete nloader to make the new OS work properly, I need to make ndless work.

maybe can reset os delete os then put os i really didnt know that working on charge os 4.5.1 to 4.0 os how use [EE] [doc] [enter] when you reset press back small button then turn off then press [ON] [EE] [Doc] [enter] last wait until pop up to delete os then download os? that will help?

The amount of time Fabian has to spend reading the endless repeated dumb Github / e-mail / forum thread questions, and replies, about Ndless 4.5.1 / 5.0 / 5.1, and replying himself to a subset of these, reduces the amount of time available for working on those things.

You’ll have to wait for the new Ndless version whenever it is released.

ok thx i will wait for that maybe i can order ebay new ti-nspire cx i hope verison less 4.5.0 so i can update os by 4.5.0 on ti-nspire cx that will great idea!

Is there any possible way to get ndless if Im running on OS 4.5.1.12. Either by downgrading or anything. If not is ndless 4.5.1.12 still being worked on and is there an ETA

I'm not working on Ndless, but I am getting notified because I posted in this issue before. The creator has said (in this very thread) that you can NOT install Ndless without a 3rd party loader; without a 3rd party loader installed previously, you cannot install Ndless all on 4.5.1.x.

Nope, no ETA, and you can't do anything right now if you're already on 4.5.1.

For the record, the devs are working on both 4.5.1.12 as well as 5.0 and 5.1 (#177). There is nothing you can do if you have any of the three versions listed above to downgrade if you do not already have a 3rd party loader installed. An ETA estimate is not available, as it is standard practice for jailbreaks to not post information about release dates. Any further comments here would only delay the release of future versions of ndless, so please stop asking and let the devs work. I too am quite excited for ndless 4.5.1.12 (I'm in the same camp as many of you), but please be patient.

If, of course, an answer to your question has not been listed above, feel free to ask.

I know the basics of C++ and I've used projects like this before, is there anything that I can do to help with the development? It will make my head feel better after hitting it against the wall because I updated to 4.5.1 :)

OH NO!! if there are already people with 4.5.2, then how are the devs gunna cope with these two os's. lmao just don't update ur calc. Im stuck on 4.5.1 and I wish there was a way to downgrade. Someone should create a software that allows us to downgrade lmao

Simple - we work on support for the latest OS only and users of 4.5.1 have to upgrade to 4.5.2.

Simple - we work on support for the latest OS only and users of 4.5.1 have to upgrade to 4.5.2.

I'm still sticking with 4.5.1 until it's confirmed that Ndless works on 4.5.2. Guess I'll have to do Calculus without CAS for now.

Side question: will switching to 4.5.2 slow down the development process?

Same lol. Don't want to upgrade to 4.5.2 and then realising that ndless for 4.5.1 is out.

You don't seem to understand. The target for Ndless is always the latest version. As @Vogtinator mentioned, that's 4.5.2 now, not 4.5.1 anymore. If you're currently stuck on a standard CX (without ControlX or whatever) with OS version 4.5.1, you have nothing to worry about updating to 4.5.2.

Maybe he found a workaround for 4.5.1 but still needs extra time for 4.5.2. You'll never know what will happen granted that its been over half a year since 4.5.1 came out.

No, not really. Basically work on 4.5.1/2 cannot be finished until CX II "equivalent" work is done first (so that exploits aren't burnt on the CX II because they are used on the old CX). Work is first currently focused on the Nspire CX II which itself requires getting emulation working on Firebird... which in turns requires USB and the new transfer protocol to be understood, emulated, and working in Firebird. The past few days, the USB part has been mostly achieved, as one can see here: https://github.com/nspire-emus/firebird/pull/165/commits

Hello. I use a ti nspire CX and installed the 5.2. im wondering even though it just came out, is there a downgrade without ndless? also im new to coding and want to do several things to contribute

You meant 4.5.2, correct? If so, nope, you can't do anything about it right now... but you can monitor this thread though.
