PvP issue #583

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Version: 5.0.9.8s

Issue: During attack, remote gateway HP suddenly reset to 100% on all
components and remote gateway stopped taking damage.

Details: Remote CON was down. Began attacking MEM, CPU, and DSK. Only attack
scripts were running. After about 2 minutes, all remote HP reset to 100%
simultaneously, and the remote gateway no longer took damage.

Comment: If this was due to the remote user logging off or unplugging hwdiag,
there really should be some indication as to what happened. So far, with rare
exception, nearly all PvP attacks that I have participated in have ended with
some sort of unsatisfying confusion.

I am not sure if this was due to remote log off / unplug, however, as the
behavior is inconsistent with what I've observed when this happens in the past
(usually the remote simply stops taking damage without an HP reset, or is
suddenly forced to disconnect).

okay, a sudden disconnect is they logged out, and the no more damage is them
getting shields online, which will eventually dwindle down, or they unplugged
diag. i will make an indication of this in the cmd line.

What does it mean when all HP is restored to 100% and they stop taking damage?
I noticed this again today, and at least according to the chat window it looked
like it happened right when they logged out. Would that happen if, say,
somebody requested a service repair and logged off?
