I'd like to start capturing requirements for the system in a centralized place (probably a set of markdown files in this repo). It would be helpful to separate out requirements for the development system and for the actual workshop instance.
For example:

It sounds like we want basic scipy-notebook for one of the workshops, but we're also exploring Dask support for another. Could we outline current thinking on the workshops?
