contrast plus ?infinity? #8

Color combinations look great. Would it be possible to have a near black background instead of grey?

Two reasons against this:

  1. The scheme relies on there being a colour that is darker than the background for some UI elements and I would say that this is generally good to have.
  2. Pure black by definition has no colour/hue (the display is even completely turned off for OLED), therefore it couldn’t be associated with a correlated colour temperature, breaking one of the design principles.

For the first reason, I would advise against modifying this yourself for anything that utilises the full palette of base colours. And for applications that don’t (terminal colours for example), it’s easy enough to just set black to pure black yourself that I don’t see the need to make this an official version.

The contrast++ version already has a background that is pretty close to black anyways.
