Problem

Data visibility and accessibility were not in a satisfactory state at NEAR with limited tools and resources made available to the community and the ecosystem at large. With the ecosystem first mindset in the core NEAR values and the decentralized path that NEAR is headed, we realized that it is needed to build a data center with information and experiences that tailored towards our ecosystem with the key audiences being our partners, founders, developers, investors, and token holders.

How did we discover this problem?

From the conversation with the NEAR core team(community, BD, product), we realized that members in the ecosystem were urging for more information and visibility into the NEAR ecosystem. Therefore, we conducted user research with some representative dapps in the ecosystem including Arterra, Flux, Mintbase, MTVRS app, Paras, Stake.gg, Xeggo, Zod TV (Interview Insights can be found both in Dovetail project and the Strategize Google Doc)

Job Story(s)

What are we planning to do about it?

  1. User Research[#1]: To gain context around users of the explorer and to determine what unrealized opportunities might exist to better serve them.
  2. Competitive Analysis [#2]: To determine how similar products approach similar problems, and to identify how/why they are successful/unsuccessful in their approach
  3. Design Exploration [#4]: To take our learnings and insights and use them to inform an exploration of alternative patterns and UX design that may offer a more informed and bespoke solution to users' needs.
  4. Alignment []: With the work complete, we are sure to come to a point where it will be necessary to determine how closely aligned the solutions and directions we define here are with the current priorities and goals of the Explorer. Do we need to adjust our prioritization? Which solutions are worth working towards? Do we have the resources available to achieve them?
  5. Implementation[]
  6. Review and Iterating

How will we measure success?

Once complete, our partners or those of interest will be able to answer following:
