Mobs like Spiders and Zombies are way too fucking OP when you are small because they have 100% accuracy when in radius, so my idea is to have a system that depending on what you are doing and how small you are will give a chance to not be hit. so lets say you are the smallest possible size to play as (1/16th size or .0625) you have an 8% chance of being hit by a melee mob, and if you are running away from the mob, the odds go down to maybe 7 or 6.5%.
