Describe your system:
 - Operating System (be specific): windows 7 x64 ultimate
 - Machine type (32-bit or 64-bit): 64 bit
 - Mupen64Plus version: 1.99.4
 - Plugins used: all available

For visual artifacts, give: Dr. Mario definitely doesn't work.
- game name and CRC/MD5 hash (printed on console)
- description of the artifact (missing polygons, flashing, wrong colors,
etc)

Describe the problem: I'm having difficulty in all of the various frontends
mapping the wiimote buttons to control n64 games. I'm stuck using the keyboard.

Please provide any additional information below.

You can mark this as solved. In Linux you just install "Wiican" and the setup
is fairly simple from there.

I run Mac OS X, so Wiican does not work for me. I was able to somewhat use
Wiiji on older versions of Mac OS X, but it doesn't work at all for me now.
When it worked it had the dpad and joystick programmed to one joystick, which
left me short on buttons.

Dolphin (http://www.dolphin-emulator.com/), an open source GameCube and Wii
emulator, has Wii remote code in it. Maybe this code could be used in
mupen64plus.

I am not very pleased by the idea that every application which allows joystick
input has to have extra code to allow wii input. Dolphin has a special interest
to get the full functionality without any kind of abstraction to "perfectly"
emulate the input behavior of a real Wii. We just want to have joysticks as
input devices. This means something else has to deal with the translation to
the normal linux joystick interface (SDL would be enough for
mupen64plus-input-sdl).

But nobody will stop you from creating a special mupen64plus-input-wii.

It would be ideal to be able to use the Wii as a generic joystick in the
operating system, but I have not been able to find anything which allows me to
do this on a current Mac. I think that the overlap of people who have Wiis and
who want to use mupen64plus might be large enough to officially support using
the Wii remote, but I understand the desire to keep Wii-specific code out of
the input plugin.

Please look at following entry from the frets on fire wiki:
http://fretsonfire.wikidot.com/using-wii-controllers-on-mac-fof

Maybe there are enough information to get it working on Mac. At least this
Wiiji sounds promising

I would say to invalidate this issue. For the most part, this is an operating
system-wide issue.
