I like to play as a zombie. So, in some maps and under some conditions, I stay close to the zombie spawn area to turn into a zombie after the round starts (so that there will be +1 zombie). However, I accidentally did something today in a round.
I chose mercanary, which has limited occupation. I don't know the occupation rate, but it disappears from selection wheel in the beginning of round after a while.
I stayed close to the zombie spawn.
After random players turned into the zombie, I touched the spawn area to become one as well.
So, what's the problem here?
The problem here is my human class selection. I chose a limited class, then turned into a zombie. Because of that, human team now has -1 mercanary, while they could have one more.
The same logic can be applied to many other limited classes.
What can be done about it?
There can be a penalty for the players that turn into a zombie by touching the zombie spawn. My ideas are...
Turning into a smoker: These player might turn into a smoker since smoker is the weakest zombie class IMHO.
Turning into a new class which is a clone of faggot, but for zombies: You can find a name for it. This class might have less health than a regular zombie, 1 dmg/sec by hook might not work for it. All of these or any of these.
The Limitations of Penalty
I believe in the liberty of deciding the side. In InfClass, there are two sides and players can choose any side they want to play. I think there's nothing wrong with willingly being a zombie, but there's something wrong occupying a limited class and turning into zombie willingly. One dirty player might not affect, maybe, but this can affect if there is a bunch of dirty players.
So I think there should be some limitations to this penalty as well. What come to my mind are:
Penalty can be applied to those who turn into zombie in first 30 (or whatever) seconds.
Penalty can be applied to those who choose limited classes and then turning into a zombie.
All of these or any of these.
