Rearranging how main() works (#73) #75

Instead of duplicating the code in main() and the main condition this uses only main()
main() now takes a list as input (the argv list)
main() returns the exit code instead of calling sys.exit()

I see a test failure

@ned14 thanks for bringing it up, I just sent the pull request before hitting the bed and hadn't notice (edit: never mind, I noticed you had to approve the workflow anyway, which explains why I didn't see it earlier).

Took quite a while until the failure details loaded, but I see it now. Will come up with a fix and amend the PR.
