enabling exceptions allows more code paths that hit more functions that were listed in ASYNCIFY_REMOVE which crashes the program if it happens
unfortunately this increases the size of the binary, there are probably optimizations that can be done here as in this probably did not require a 1.58MB increase in size, but its hard to know exactly what is needed, can continue researching to minimize the size in the future
