I want to rewrite our build models and I'm also noticing a lot of logic in buildController and userController that doesn't have any good validation. It may make sense to rebuild these.

this is sort of a master story. here are the subtasks:

Refactor models to meet new spec
Find an out of the box API layer to wrap around models, build new endpoints
Build CREATE (maybe UPDATE all-in-one?) page for single build (no designs, simple form)
Build DISPLAY page for single build (no designs, simple data output)
