Open in background conflicts with buffer extension

What is the problem? Describe completely:

The "open items in background with v" feature doesn't work anymore in google 
reader if the Buffer for Chrome extension is enabled. Instead I get the 
following error message in a new tab
"This webpage is not found
No webpage was found for the web address: 
chrome-extension://bmihblnpomgpjkfddepdpdafhhepdbek/#
Error 6 (net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND): The file or directory could not be found."

Disabling the Buffer for chrome extension returns the functionality to normal. 
Strange. But as the "open in background with v" is my favorite feature, well, 
so long for buffer.

Minimalist version   - 0.5.20
Relevant core module - minimalist for google reader
Chrome version       - 19.0.1084.46 m
