eepe Installer still does't work #58

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.open eepe and download new version
2.eepe asks if we want to run installer.
3.click yes

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect installer to run / nothing happens instead

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
when updating from 180 to 183

Please provide any additional information below.

When you click on Start->Programs->eePe->eePe does the program start?
What OS are you running? (XP? Vista? 7?)

Yes, program starts. I'm using XP.
eepe works. just doesn't install itself

Any other changes?

Do you choose a different directory?
I'll be testing eePe install on a XP computer and I want to replicate
everything.

No, eepe chooses the directory..
If I install manually (clicking on the exe file) all is fine.

Try it out now. (r186)
I think it's fixed.

Still doesn't work for me on r.211 and Windows XP Pro SP3.

As we recently discovered on the forum, the installer doesn't start
automatically if the file is saved to a path with spaces (yeah, Windows users
do like spaces in the folder names now). I.e. if the path is like "C:\test\"
the installer will start, if the path is like "C:\eePe test\" the installer
won't start (and eePe will only download the file to that location).

Made a change that would hopefully fix this problem

Still didn't work for me, using eePe rev.219 and saving the file to a path with
spaces.

I've made yet more changes in this current version (r222).
Hopefully we're getting there.

Still doesn't work with the upgrade from r222 to r223.
Is there an option to make a log file or something, so that we can see where it
goes wrong, exactly?

Ah! I guess it was fixed since r223 !!!
At least it ran the installer automatically when r223 got updated with r228 !
Thanks!
