...what (skills) one would need at least for scripting is:

• confident in reading-in csv, excel, and txt files (importing) and writing them (exporting), both single files and multiple files.
• apply the same functions / tasks / alterations to multiple files or multiple rows (using if_else, if{}else{}, lapply, do.call, for(){}).
• work with a list of dataframes (created with for example mget())
• Confidently apply dplyr's mutate statements.
• Apply functions to extract or replace text elements from strings using regex with stringr, gsub, sub, etc.
• Use filter, select, group_by statements.
• Transform data from long to wide using for example reshape2.
• move and copy files.
• Chapter 2 of attached pdf.
• Chapter 6 of attached pdf.
• Chapter 7 of attached pdf.
• Chapter 10 of attached pdf.
