i'll probably make a separate document for c&s onboarding and add a link to the rdm one.

stuff to include in the C&S onboarding:

introduction to team c&s (include the document linking the team to the strategic goals)
the people involved in the UB + RE
uu website page + uu github
where to find the teams channel
overview of tasks & activities (ongoing + backlog)
links to workshops (incl. deprecated, walk-in hours, programming cafe
links to relevant resources: fair software, eSC, carpentries, code refinery, that article on good enough practices in scientific computing...

where to get started?

drop by the walk-in hours / programming cafe to meet with REs
go through the workshop materials
join the next workshops as participant/helper
figure out current skills + knowledge + interests
learn git & github if not known yet
decide on what tasks could be picked up based on knowledge + interests
any new ideas or contributions? they can be added to tasks & activities overiew
make a plan to get started! (pick something, plan appointments to cowork or follow-up)
