Tweet input box now very laggy #310

When entering text in the tweet box, the newly restyled input box is very laggy
- to an extent that make the client basically unusable for tweeting. Please
could you at least put in an option to use a native text entry box?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system and
what Desktop Environment?

0.9.6 - Ubuntu 10.10 netbook edition - Unity.

Please provide any additional information below.

To clarify: I was running 0.9.6-hg734 from the PPA, though the issue had come
in with 0.9.6-hg714 (the previous version I had installed).

I've downgraded to 0.9.6-hg689 which uses the previous, plainer text box, and
that is now fine.

Hi,

New version use box-shadow to decorate all textarea and entry when they are in
focus status.

Although I didn't try it in other machine yet, but it's a common way in web
design. Well, I will examine the styles and fixed later.

Thanks - it's more of an issue on low-powered machines, like my netbook.

BTW, I really appreciate your quick response to this. Thanks for the work
you're doing on creating Hotot - I love using it, which is why I was glad to
find I had an earlier version I could downgrade to pending a fix on this issue.

Hi, I have test it a in laptop with ATI video card. You are right, it lags
heavily. but Hotot for Chrome is fine.

I guess it's performance issue for WebkitGtk.
