Welp I was late with the PR, you went ahead and now it's complicated :-D Anyways - there are a couple of changes to the text that should make things more clear. I also added the part with the geometry of the produced segmentations and reworked @trofimova 's dummy example to produce the correct geometry in its output.
There were several merge conflicts, I hope I did not miss anything you changed in the text
