This is the syntax that works on my version of Nix and the version of Holochain that compiles correctly on Apple M1 silicon.

oh, I see what happened here. Your PR got marked as rejected even though I never saw it, 'cos I closed the branch it was based off. If you rebase it back onto main it should show as expected?
