For historic purposes, Dave Kapell was also president for 2019-2020, and the three people listed as end of term in 2021 were elected last year

  1. The NEIL Board page is updated. Done.
  2. There were two Joshua -> Jaelen changes we'd missed. Fixed.
  3. I think I have the History page almost correct. Open questions:

i. When Jen was chair for R, she couldn't hold the board seat she'd held for a year. I don't know who took that year. Thus the ? box still there in 2017.

ii. When you chaired S, Cameron took the Presidency. That meant that someone would have to take the last year of his term on the Board. I remember that we elected some people to one year terms and some to two year terms, to keep the staggered board election cycle. I've taken a guess at those elections, as I don't remember any changes on the Board since then. Given my memory issues, is that correct?

iii. Has Stephanie remained as the Clerk? Is there any hope of getting meeting minutes since January 2016?

Can you please take a look at the Board and Board History pages, as a sanity check?

I'm going to close #9 and keep this one open, for dealing with the remaining history issues.

iv. Also, who is the NELCO 2020 Chair?

dkapell commented 4 years ago

i) not sure, I will need to dig that up ii) I was in that one year term, ending in 2019, when I became president again iii) Stephanie has not been the clerk in many years, ending in march 2016 iv) Cameron Betts is the NELCO 2020 chair.

i. Thanks. Let me know what you find out, and I'll fix it.

ii. Really? That would have made you a member of the Board and the Con-Chair at the same time -- which would have been a big conflict of interest. In effect, you, as part of the Board, would be responsible for oversight on you, the Con Chair. If Jen lost her seat on the Board when she chaired R, why didn't you follow the same rules for S? It seems like a bad precedent, creating the potential for future problems.

I've made this edit.

iii. I will remove the clerk column from 2017-present. Done.

iv. Cameron added. Done.

I don't think Jen lost her seat on the board, which would be the answer to i. A github issue is not the right place for this discussion, but I was elected to the position of con chair in January 2018, and then ran for a board seat in march 2018, and was elected by the community and ratified by the board. I think Jen was a board member at the same time as being conchair. I'm currently NEIL president as well as the head of NEIL hosting. Cameron, Adina, and I have been on the board and NELCO coordinator at the same time.

Now that we have separated out the positions of intercon conchair and neil president, there is much less conflict of interest from all years pre-P when they were the same person.
