Collecting some sensitive data for games: Pronouns ! and key triggers #3272

I am asking players about prefered pronouns all the time as part of mainstreaming it and making it part of your profile in Intercode would be really helpful.

There is a related question on gender comfort in characters played and if a game involves romance genders you are comfortable playing romance with but that already gets moderately complex. THough if I do a game with romance elements I need to ask pretty much that.

Lifewise are there any triggers you want us to avoid in a character we cast you in and are there any that you need to avoid anywhere int he game or backstory.

Pronouns have been an optional part of the User Profile since the site launched for S. We should expose them to the GMs, however.

I don't really think that intercon should be collecting information about which genders people are comfortable playing romance with, or triggers, just like I don't think we should be collecting medical information, but we'll discuss this as a team.

A potential problem with collecting "genders comfortable for romance with" at the player level is that players could have different preferences for this depending on the game (perhaps a player wants one thing in a romance heavy genre and another in gritty sci-fi, for example).
