crash on missing notification sounds #77

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/specto/+bug/157969

"when I tried to set preferences, a window show up, something like this:
Could not find /usr/share/sounds/ekiga.

As I can see, Specto use Ekiga sounds as default. I downloaded Ekiga
package, extracted the diretory "usr/share/sound/ekiga" to there and now it
is ok. It would be better not to use Ekiga sounds as default because it
creates another dependency.
[...]
Yes, it is not a dependency, but that error window show up even if sounds
are not activated (as default). At first I didn't notice why such error
(the sounds was not activated), and that error window is annoying.

It would be better if you could find a way to stop Specto to look the sound
file until the sound is activated. Then anyone will find out easily why
that error and if Ekiga is not installed look for another sound file."

Ok, the "I can't hear the sounds anymore" has been fixed in Ubuntu 8.04, so it
was
not specto's fault. We still need to backport this crasher fix though.

is this using specto-main (https://code.launchpad.net/~specto/specto/main) or
specto
svn? Ideally, this should be tested with specto-main
