Cannot Move on Galaxy S #88

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Hi,

The game appears to load perfectly and I can look around and shoot but I cannot
move forward or backward.

I tried going into setup and changing the forward and backward controls to the
volume button but the game does not seem to pick them up.

The Galaxy S has no keyboard and minimal buttons (only volume up and down,
power, menu, escape, and power). I think I'm running Droid 2.1 Update 1

The game looks pretty sweet though, I'm just itching to play it properly...

Opps, I said power button twice... there is only one power button, but I guess
I mentioned it twice because it's twice as important as the other buttons.

You can move foward and backword's with the volume keys, and shoot hitting on
the screen, thats how i play on my SGH-i897.

Thats because you have a 'SGH-i897', I have a 'Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000' and
the volume keys do not work with the game.

It would be really nice if you could move using accelerometer or even the
compass!!! Today i have received my galaxy S. I hadnt time enought to test
it, but the 1st game i want to install is this to take a look at the graphical
capabilities. What a succeed if i could manage to play properly to quake 3 in
a handy!!! My friends will be surprised so much...

I have a Samsung Galaxy S i9000, and I am able to map keys to the Volume
Controls, was able to Map one to Forward, the other to Jump. Still, its hard to
play this way.

Use latest 1.1f test build which has a virtual joypad, so game will be easier
to play.
