I've made 4 standing desks (from scratch) over the years but they have typically been "bespoke" and I haven't kept the sketches/plans so cannot replicate them...

The most recent version was Back in 2014 for our "home office": nelson-standing-desk-at-home

I think "strong contender" for affordability is the IKEA Bekant (motorised standing desk): http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/desks/office-desks/bekant-desk-sit-stand-birch-veneer-black-spr-49061191/ which retails for £465 bekant

The IKEA Skarsta (manual standing desk) is also a good option but requires effort: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/desks/desk-computer-desks/skarsta-desk-sit-stand-white-spr-49084965/ which sells for £175 skarsta

While I quite like the idea of a collapsable (space saving) design I'd prefer standing desks that cater for more than one person by supporting a monitor that rises with the table so people can pair-program... e.g: https://www.amazon.co.uk/GSA12S-Spring-Monitor-bracket-monitor/dp/B00UK1OW4O height-adjustable-monitor-arm

This is not a "Standing" desk as such, but it deserves to be in our list of "research" because this is the "ultimate" workstation for people who don't care about standing. https://www.andatechdistribution.com.au/products/droian-ergonomic-computer-workstation image
