Thanks for collecting this huge list of techniques. I decided to contribute back by adding this entry that I do think people need to be aware of as well. "Inspirational" stories, since they don't receive as much fact-checking as political stories does, has a a potential to spread disinformation to other people, which obviously is a way to 'hack' an engineer. As an example, I only provide the Snopes' list of glurge memes, but I think it should be possible to think of examples where engineers spread "inspirational" stories to each other that are potentially of dubious nature.
