Additions #3

So I wrote some more content. I only added one source (to justify my statement about content marketing being expensive), but I think most of my contributions are self-explanatory. I guess my most controversial one may be to ask whether you actually need to read the content in question ("need to know"), but we do have to ask ourselves this question every time we see a link. There are only 24 hours in a day, after all.

At some point, I'll write a post on the danger of knowing too much. So many great entrepreneurs I know would never have started their companies if they knew everything about their domain before they started (it would have seemed too hard).

And over time, maybe we can add a section about what a thoughtful media diet looks like in engineering? There are lots of good HN threads where people share how they stay sane in today's media environment.

BTW, two years later, the "need to know" principle was a great addition to the guide. Thanks for contributing it!
