I'm sorry that you had this problem. I just downloaded and installed a fresh
Eclipse
Modeling Tools of Ganymede SR2 (the version 3.4.2) from
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-modeling-tools-includes-incuba
ting-components/ganymedesr2
for Linux 32bit in my Kubuntu 8.04 and had no problem in installing the editor
or
creating some OntoUML models. Are you using exactly this version of Eclipse? I
have
never seen this problem before. Could you describe exactly what were you doing
when
the error happened in the editor, so I can try to reproduce this bug?
Are you reusing the previous workspace when reinstalling Eclipse? If yes, try to
create a new workspace, or try to backup and then remove the file named ".lock"
within the folder ".metadata" of your workspace, and then start Eclipse.

Yes, I'm using exactly this version of Eclipse.
The problem occured when I was editing a model and when a finished to make an
association (don't remember which one) the tool crashed and showed me a warning
saying that I had to restart the workbench than I've clicked yes.
Eclipse closed but did not start. I've started it but when it was loading it
stopped
doing it while the loading splash screen was showing up.
I've tried your suggestions but they still do not work.
Now I'm sending a log file containg the stack trace of the Eclipse error.
Thanks in advance.

Problem solved! :-)
I've solved the Eclipse problem by doing the following steps:
sudo apt-get install xulrunner
append to eclipse.ini
-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.XULRunnerPath=/usr/lib/xulrunner/xulrunner
I've installed the OntoUML editor and for now it is working fine.
I don't really know what happened.
I'm sorry to disturb you and thanks for you help.
Alexandre.
