Are we going to get a workable buteo sync framework for SailfishOS / Jolla #36

Is there any schedule or plan to have this buteo-sync -framework to be usable in Jolla / SailfishOS 1.0.8.19 (and later OS updates). What kind of help do buteo-sync plugin developers need to make this happen? Are there are any show-stoppers, pending tasks or TODOs in buteo-sync-plugins framework that should be resolved first?

Buteo is part of the OS since release, what's your issue ?

The issue being that end-user have problems using it in #Jolla. The PIM sync in SailfishOS seems to be badly broken and there are no instructions (or we just have not found them) or documentation on how to enable Contacts and Calendar sync to Google or ownCloud or any service using CalDav, CardDav, WebDav protocols using buteo-sync -framework (if it actually is fully functional in the device). Nor do we not know how to debug the issues, or even reset the relevant PIM data sources in the device in order to test and experiment with these sycn issues. Also, if there are some steps to be taken or some development work that need to be done to get relevant buteo-sync-plugins working and integrated in #SaifishOS native system and 3rd-party apps, it is unclear how this could be done.

E.g, I have Jollla device (#SailfishOS 1.0.8.19) and I would like to use buteo-sync-plugins (or actually any sync-framework that makes it reliably) to enable reliable two-way snc of my People/Contacts data to Google or ownCloud with CardDav and Calendars (in/out from device) using CalDav. How do I use the code in this bute-sync-plugins repo to succeed in this? Are there some dev work to be done in this repo to make this usable for end-users of #Jolla phone?

Thanks for your reply, and sorry for not being able to excatly specify the issue(s) users seems to have with PIM data sync in #SailfishOS, but if the buteo-sync-plugins is finalized and usable in the device, why does it not fully work then? What needs to be done (in this repo or OS)?

Not sure if I understand your question, you want instructions how to compile the buteo stuff ? If your question is from a user point of view, not sure what instructions are you looking for, the current UI plugins are quite simple, all the syncs you mention are done via Buteo plugins, there's nothing else in the device. CalDav and CardDav are experimental atm, there are many providers out there that work in different ways, if there are issues with the Jolla device they should be reported at https://together.jolla.com, use this space to report concrete bugs in the code or functionality since might there be other projects using the Buteo-SyncFw out there.
