I have tested with both OpenJDK 8 and 11 as I'm not sure about the version I should target, but with OpenJDK 8 it does not build properly.

This comes somehow surprising. Why do you think there is a need for another public CI besides the already running GitHub actions?

I actually haven't noticed that there was the GitHub CI, sorry for the spam.
