"Hi Tobias,
I'm afraid we aren't able to discuss the details behind our trending algorithm as that would allow users to game the algorithm used by trending, making the feature less useful to users.
However, I can say that there are multiple factors other than number of stars. Things like the number of forks a repository has, and its date of creation also come into play.
Sorry we couldn't provide much information here, but let me know if there's anything else we can do to help.
Thanks, Kirzi GitHub Support"
i guess we can close this issue now as "non fixable" =/
This really feels unfair, since open source projects rely on visibility.
neo.mjs never got listed on: https://github.com/trending/javascript?since=daily
Yesterday (14.12.), this repo was a top story on Hacker News (thank you!) and the traffic literally exploded:
The stars went up from 86 to 172, but for some reason we got excluded by github to get shown on the trending pages.
Even today we should be on there (172 to 182 stars).
Maybe @steffen could ask someone to take a look into this.
I also created a comment on a community ticket here:

Thanks for your support to resolve this!
Best regards, Tobias
