Home App Switch not returning state for my Yamaha RX-V3900 #12

Open LupoLoopy opened 8 years ago

Switching on the device works (the AVR actually turns on), but the toggle switch in iOS does not stay 'on', warning there is 'no response' from the device, defaulting back to Powered Off.

Given further testing, the state does eventually converge. You have to wait a few seconds though for the next device state refresh. Wondering where to bake in the delay to stop this false flag for 'no response'

Hi, I can't help you with this but i was hoping you can help me...

I have homebridge-yamaha installed and I can add as an accessory using the apple home app. The problem is that it connects as a switch and i can't control volume - just switch the receiver on and off. Is this the same for you?

I have also tried adding additional functionality to the plugin - using the forked version https://github.com/ZaubererMD/homebridge-yamaha

the plugin loads fine using the forked version but i don't see how to include the functionality in the home app - I still have just a switch to turn on/off the AVR on a selected input.

Can you help at all?

Right now it seems to me that the default Home app just does not support these features. You should try using another free app like Elgato Eve.
