It would be neat to have a DHCP server automatically issue the specified IPs to the VM, since many installers support (or even default to) requesting a DHCP lease. This could also be accomplished with a post install script baked into the templates which could interface with the automation system.

As of today, Neptune now supports DHCP (though IPv6 addresses still need to be set manually) 🎉.
