TA Access.pdf How to Launch UCSLS Jupyter Instance.pdf

msdisme commented 9 months ago

Dear CS210 Teaching Staff,

The NERC project for CS210 now includes the professors, teaching fellows, and assistants which Prreetha and Amy provided. This email outlines how to start using it.

Please begin by registering at NERC User Portal (https://nerc-project.github.io/nerc-docs/get-started/create-a-user-portal-account/#getting-started) using the same BU email address linked to your NERC account when it was added. Detailed instructions are in Section 1 of the attached PDF, How to Launch UCSLS Jupyter Instance.

For launching a Jupyter Instance, please look at Section II in the same document.

The document TA Access.pdf outlines how to access the rhods-notebooks namespace, manage student notebooks, and adjust student enrollments in the ColdFront project.

We anticipate additional documentation next week, particularly on student enrollment adjustments (tracked in this GitHub issue).

Note: The fix to turn off address space randomization is pending, which may affect some exercises. However, this will not impact the rest of the content.

If you have any questions, please contact me on Slack (msd on the MOC Slack).

for ec440 students I plan to copy https://okrieg.github.io/openos/textbook/misc/howto.html and make a version for NERC use (thanks @nayesha@bu.edu) for the info and assist!

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uCpo3HXjOfpwPOSTcO4E11g1vjAVvHPK5bVCV_iZlYA/edit?usp=sharing is a quick version to get out to students now. Jupyter docs will need to be updated, possibly by Ayesha or Orran.
