I am not sure if this is the right repo and place, but I don't want to lose this user's feedback.
Maybe we are adding this to one of our UX-enhancing ideas.
And for sure to prioritize if some of these ideas can/need/should be changed (e.g., if main user base is inside universities, optimizing for RH is not a high priority or wanted)
I am a Red Hat associate; therefore using Google / *@redhat.com
Feedback
In general, this process is quite straightforward.
It is unclear who should be "our" Identity Provider. I have chosen Google and used the @redhat.com email, and it works. However, as the list mainly consists of universities, it takes work to spot that there are also other providers. I was trying to find "Red Hat" but without success.
first ideas (thor): clusters, search, provider-related sorting, documentation
The required "Research Domains" does not contain items for Software Engineering/Security. I have chosen "Other," but I believe that SW/ML/AI should be an option.
Email with validation code contains a link, which is either a bad practice - we teach people not to click on the URL in emails :) And if the URL is already there, then it can contain validation code as a parameter, so I don't have to retype it. The security level won't change, but it is more user-friendly.
Then I tried to ask for a principal investigator account via https://nerc.mghpcc.org/pi-account-request/
I got stuck because I didn't know how to find the "institution-specific code." What is it for, Red Hat?
