Local example build increments twice on `pointermove` and `keydown` #13

The local example repo increments twice when dragging or using keyboard nav but the production build is fine.

Probably related to strict mode changes in React 18 https://reactjs.org/blog/2022/03/08/react-18-upgrade-guide.html#updates-to-strict-mode
