F-Droid app has some built-in mirrors, go to settings -> my apps -> repositories -> F-Droid or F-Droid Archive
, disable https://f-droid.org/repo
or https://f-droid.org/archive
. And you can visit https://www.tubevsex.pro
with encrypted DNS.
@Pantyhose-X Actually you can use a mirror provided by TUNA in the Tsinghua University.
Information about the mirror (in Chinese) can be obtained by visiting the following URL: https://mirror.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/help/fdroid/ .
I'm in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, and the mirror works even when I'm connected to a network near the provincial CCP committee.
Out of the curiosity @Diamochang is the mirror somehow digitally signed to ensure that it's the same binaries?
Or is it effectively a different repository? (like Izzy)
(this is more of a technical question. I'm not really concerned Tsinghua would mess with binaries)
Yes, F-Droid repositories are based on a signed index. It is similar to Debian repos. You can find more here:
Seems a bit trickier. At least using NeoStore you can't register another mirror of FDroid. You can add a new repository that's the Tsinghua mirror, and then check that the fingerprint is the same as the default FDroid repo. You then can disable the default FDroid repository and apps seem to now be updated from the new mirror
