Coming very soon @Observer-yl! Would you like to beta test it? Here are some spoilers :)
@braginini Is there an available IPA file or TestFlight invite? Also, what is the minimum iOS (and I'm assuming iPadOS) version?
Hello folks, you can sign up for the iOS preview here: https://forms.gle/HVAdMKt2vSdCiTzY9
We will send you test flight invites when the first version is ready for testing.
Awesome. Signed up ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
Hello folks, we published the iOS app!!!
You can find it here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/netbird-p2p-vpn/id6469329339
We are looking into, publishing to China's store but it might be a problem as it requires more paperwork. So it will be great to hear from the community there, if there is an alternative distribution channel.
Hmm, @mlsmaycon I just wanted to use the app with our own server.
The problem is, that our servers public domain (ends with .software) is marked as invalid address.
Is there some kind of blacklisting happening in the background?
Hello @balu212, thanks for reporting the issue. Our regex has a problem, limiting the top-level domain to 3 digits. A fix will come in the new release.
I was just comparing tailscale and netbird and saw that tailscale's client is available on AppleTV devices. This is actually quite a nice device to support (if possible) as I'd personally like to make a resource (e.g. SMB or Jellyfin) available behind netbird to AppleTV devices.
Until this is possible, you can work around this with static routes in your home router and a raspi or similar: https://old.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/kocbek/how_i_access_a_remote_nas_from_a_firetv_stick/ This was written when I still used plain wireguard, but just changing the mask would work
@jvanbruegge great suggestion, on networks where I control the stack this makes sense. I'll enumerate further that the use case for AppleTV is that I can buy one, provision it (with my overlay), and ship it to my Grandmother (or another non-tech user) to have her plug it in without having to consider any upstream network devices.
Sure, having an app is a lot easier. Same for android TV.
I would love an Apple TV app so I can finally switch from Tailscale to Netbird ๐๐ป I use it with an exit node to get around geo restrictions.
For information, there are existing issues for TV support: For Apple TV: https://github.com/netbirdio/netbird/issues/2440 For Android TV: https://github.com/netbirdio/netbird/issues/889
I just wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding work you've put into the NetBird project. The ease of configuration and security it provides is immensely valuable to me, simplifying network setup in the most delightful way.
I'm especially looking forward to the release of the iOS version of NetBird, as it would enable me to enjoy this fantastic tool on my mobile devices as well. Thank you for your hard work!
Best regards
