Issue with Netdisco - Incorrect Device Discovery and POE Status Display #521

Dear Netdisco Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to you as a new user of Netdisco, seeking assistance with some challenges I am facing while trying to manage my network using this software.

My netdisco version is 2.73. I have a network infrastructure that includes Ubnt and Tplink switches, and I am encountering issues with Netdisco's web-GUI not displaying the correct information for these devices. Specifically, the POE status of the switches, which is a critical piece of information for me, is not being shown. Additionally, the MAC address and series number for the Ubnt switches are identical, which is incorrect, and for the Tplink switches, neither the MAC address nor the series number is being displayed at all.

Furthermore, I have noticed issues with the neighbor discovery feature. The Tplink devices, in particular, are not showing any neighbor devices, which is quite concerning.

In an attempt to diagnose the issue, I used Wireshark to capture packets and observed that Netdisco is only utilizing the public MIBs for SNMP and does not seem to be accessing the private nodes of the devices.

I have been using the default configuration for Netdisco and am wondering if there might be a misconfiguration on my part. Are there any specific settings I should be aware of when using Netdisco with Ubnt and Tplink switches? Also, I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with a user manual or any documentation that could guide me through the correct setup and usage of Netdisco.

Your assistance in resolving these issues would be immensely appreciated. I am looking forward to a prompt and positive response from your team.

Thank you for your time and support.

Best regards,

the more info you can provide, the easier it is for us the help you, so please fill out as many of the items below as possible.

Provide a general summary of the issue in the Title above

when including netdisco config snippets, whitespace matters since it's a yaml file for github issues it really helps if you include the relevant config parts in a codeblock (code fencing) see the "code" subject on https://guides.github.com/features/mastering-markdown/ for that) this should preserve spaces in the issue tracker and make troubleshooting quicker
