There is an audible "click" when a recording is started. This is because of the file extension and format: file extension is ".sln" but file format is ".wav".
Renaming the file in ".wav" resolve the issue.
Converting files to .sln (RAW, 8KHz) also solve the issue and should be better for performance
Steps to reproduce
call echotest (*43)
you can hear the click before recording starts
now rename file in .wav mv /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en/demo-echotest.sln /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en/demo-echotest.wav
click should disappear
now convert file in raw sox /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en/demo-echotest.wav -t raw -r 8000 /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en/demo-echotest.sln; mv /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en/demo-echotest.wav /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en/demo-echotest.wav.bak
