I have tried x2go with kde netrunner rolling (debian based) and it is very slow. It seems that all screen is rendered as a bitmap and then sent via x2go. In this way x2go cannot do any optimization
@notuxius We do not even ship x11vnc in Netrunner Rolling (Manjaro). Besides the obvious security issues with doing such a thing, what benefit would this be to the average user?
NOTE: I've never needed to use anything like this in my personal life. Now in my computer, networking business, we use a proprietary solution that is end to end encrypted for remote desktop access, but we avoid using this method of support whenever possible.
@mgiammarco We don't have a rolling edition based on debian. You can make the debian edition semi-rolling using backports, but that's not quite the same thing.
I understand that debian based is not rolling I explained myself wrong. Anyway X11 born as a remotable desktop. Today many projects like LTSP use remote desktops to optimize resources. I use thin client with x2go based desktops daily. It is also quite ridicolous that Linux/unix, where remote desktop was born, was surpassed by Windows with rdp. I will promote distro that support remote desktops fully.
'x2goserver' 'x2goclient-qt5' + set up SSH.
For possibility for users to connect with each other without need of installing additional software.
Or - we can develop some simple GUI app for starting VNC or NX server . The app will display status and info of how to connect to it. Plus we can supply Remmina (on live/installed systems) for quick connection to this server.
