Can you please advise what should I do? I am running Laravel 4 on OS X

Hey, this seems to have been a small bug which I just fixed in the latest release (master or 1.5.1). Can you let me know if this fixes your problem? Thank! :)

Hey Netson,

When I run

php artisan l4gettext:compile

{"error":{"type":"Netson\\L4gettext\\InvalidEncodingException","message":"The provided encoding [utf8] does not exist in the list of valid encodings [config/encodings.php]","file":"/vendor/netson/l4gettext/src/Netson/L4gettext/L4gettext.php","line":66}}

I think somehow the Config::get() that you set wrongly already. The encodings.php file for me located at "config/packages/netson/l4gettext/encodings.php"

Do let me know if you fix them again, thanks :)

Did you run l4gettext:install again after updating to version 1.5.1? And if so, can you run the command "locale -a" from a terminal window and post the output here? Not sure this is a bug, most likely this is a configuration error.

Your error message indicates you are trying to set the encoding [utf8], but on your system [utf8] does not exist. Gettext is very specific about how you write things, so if your system prints [UTF-8], that's what you should put in your config file.

If you change utf8 to UTF-8 in your encodings file, I expect it will work

keithyeohh commented 10 years ago

Oh hey Netson, thanks for all your time and its working fine now. :+1:

Glad I could help! :)
