Missing Hud 2 not picking up Isaac process even though it's running #60

Missing Hud 2 (1.4.4 version) doesn't pick up my Isaac process even though it's running and in the process tab. I've even launched Isaac through Missing Hud 2 and it doesn't recognize it. I checked the processes and it shows as ISAAC.NG.EXE *32 so I don't know if that is the issue or not. I've also reinstalled Missing Hud 2 a few times with no success. It has worked before and I restarted my computer one day and now it doesn't work! Should I reinstall Isaac? And if I do that will it lose my data and save file? Just checking since I'm 5% away from 1001%. Any help would be great!

Also I have Isaac running on a different drive than my C:. Missing Hud 2 was working with Isaac running this way before so I don't know what it could be now.

Reinstalling won't lose your progress as long as you have steam cloud sync enabled, which it is by default. You can check by right clicking the game from your steam library, going to properties, and then the update tab.

MHUD2 only searches for any running processes by the name of "isaac-ng.exe" (you could even rename notepad.exe to isaac-ng.exe and it would inject itself into notepad). If "isaac-ng.exe" is indeed running, maybe try running MHUD2 as admin?

I already ran MHUD2 as admin and it didn't find isaac. I'm thinking it might be because the process is all in caps and maybe MHUD2 is case sensitive? Just weird that it worked earlier and then I just did a general restart on my computer and it no longer works. I'm going to try reinstalling Isaac.

I believe the process name (in MHUD2's eyes) is case-sensitive, yes. The default Steam process name is "isaac-ng.exe" (no caps) so there isn't really a reason why it would be in caps, hence why MHUD2 doesn't account for it.

I have the same problem. May be it's Win7 x64, or non-english system locale, or symlinked game directory, but process name is all caps. So it is not the matter of faith.

i know how to fix this, put the missing hud 2 in the directory folder of isaac (the folder where you installed isaac) and then run it!
