The following additions have been made:

Unit tests for project controller have been added.
The then structure has been changes to async-await in the project controller.

Some tests for functions in the project controller have been omitted and will be added in the PR for Data Slices. Kindly merge this PR after merging the MRI Test PR. @katjaq @r03ert0 Kindly have a look...
