[ENH] Add HTTP basic auth #14

Changes proposed in this pull request:

HTTP basic authentication implemented
The valid username + password to be compared against are expected to be defined as environment variables
Added pytest-env plugin to handle setting env vars for tests that may be accessed at import time inside the test files (see https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/discussions/10027 for description of problem)
