3D sphere embedding #3

@laplacianduan how hard would it be to enable the graph to be embedded onto the sphere?

a 2nd thing: force the edges to also live on the sphere?

  1. do you mean putting constraints on the latent coordinates onto the sphere manifold? it might be possible with a lagrange multiplier like \lambda * (x^2+y^2+z^2-1)
  2. more specifics on the 2nd thing?

  1. i would have thought embed in 3D and then normalize each to unit norm.
  2. he wants to see the edges living on the sphere as well, rather than going through the middle.

i think just getting 1 working in gx would be pretty sweet, and then we could see whether we want to proceed?
