• Estimating Mutual Information
• Estimating Mutual Information via Geodesic kNN

• experiment with the proposed algorithm(s) leveraging existing features in sktree and additional Python code
• add/change Cython module(s) that will be needed for implementation
• add tests to verify the results and performance
