Summary of "divergences" from BIDS? #51

I wonder if there is

a summary of divergences from BIDS (e.g. new entities like _date and _software) with argumentation for their necessity?
why/where BEP032 (https://bids.neuroimaging.io/bep032) is not fulfilling the use cases you have?
as BIDS becomes more and more schema driven -- would it be feasible to express all (most?) of divergences within schema fork and thus still benefit from e.g. schema-driven bids-validator? (to a degree we did that in early days of schema for DANDI archive while keeping a fork of schema with new entities added and specifying "custom" version of BIDS for that schema so schematools validator could work on it)
any desires for a potential BIDS 2.0 which could help bridge the gap between BIDS and NeuroBlueprint? may be some of them already listed on https://github.com/bids-standard/bids-2-devel ? e.g.

Hey @yarikoptic, thanks for taking the time to review NeuroBlueprint and to raise these questions!

Me and @JoeZiminski are in the process of writing up responses to these kinds of concerns. We need some time to clearly commit our thoughts to paper, but we'll make sure to share the post(s) with you and the world.

As far as I understand, these are the key questions:

Why is BIDS - as it stands (or with BEP032) - not sufficient to cover our needs?
A complete list of NeuroBlueprint's deviations from BIDS
Can we make NeuroBlueprint work within BIDS 2.0 (with the possible use of schemas)?

Hi, I just stubbled upon your repo this week. I am part of the author team for BEP029 Motion BIDS. Some of the specifications in there might be relevant for this project. If you want to get together, let me know.

Thanks for getting in touch @JuliusWelzel ! I'm aware of MotionBIDS and it's also relevant for another project of ours.

I'll re-read MotionBIDS in detail and get in touch with you with questions/comments if necessary.
