hi @shalithasuranga can you check out my pull request
@shalithasuranga thank you so much!! i am planning to apply for google season of docs, and for that i want to make a lot of technical document contributions. can you tell me is this type of contribution considered a good technical writing contribution? good enough to show in my resume for GSOD? i am a beginner to open source, and am learning to start contributing in code as well. this was my first accepted pull request. any kind of guidance would be much much appreciated!!
Hello @DaanishShaikh it's nice to hear that your are planning to contribute to open-source via the GSoD program. Yeah, indeed, this type of contribution is a good way to start contributing since it doesn't touch the domain-specific content initially. Once you are familiar with the documentation development environment and the project, you can undoubtedly start doing domain-specific contributions.
I hope you'll find an interesting task from this list: https://developers.google.com/season-of-docs/docs/participants Neutralinojs didn't apply for GSoD, but we are working with GSoC (Google Summer of Code) this time. Perhaps, we'll apply for the GSoD program next time. Thanks so much for your contribution and letting us know about the GSoD program :tada:
@shalithasuranga thank you so much! and yes many people have no idea what gsod is, it hasnt been as popular as the gsoc programme, even a 25 yrs experience technical writer i talked to had no idea what gsod was!! i am learning web development to start contributing in the actual code base that is the gsoc type open source, in a months time i will start contributing to the code base as well! i am eager to learn and i am even more amazed to see changes that i made myself in an actual website! it gives me a sense of achievement!
@DaanishShaikh Great! good luck with your open-source contributions and technical writing... Thanks so much for helping us to improve Neutralinojs documentation :tada:
